BYK-190 Water-based Dispersing Agent

BYK-190 is a VOC- and solvent-free wetting and dispersing additive for aqueous coating systems, printing inks, and adhesives.
BYK-190 is also a standard additive for resin-free pigment concentrates and is suitable for various pigments.

BYK-190 aqueous dispersant achieves pigment deflocculation through steric stabilization.
Due to the fine particle size of deflocculated pigments, high gloss is achieved, color strength is enhanced, and transparency is improved.
The reduction in viscosity improves flow properties and allows for higher pigment loading.
BYK-190 dispersant is suitable for producing stable resin-free pigment concentrates with pigment contents of 30–60%. These pigment concentrates can be used for tinting standard aqueous binders, such as acrylic dispersions or water-soluble acrylic resins.
Recommended dosage of BYK-190 for printing inks: 10–12% for titanium white, 15–50% for organic pigments and carbon black.
Recommended dosage of BYK-190 for coatings: 20–30% for inorganic pigments, 10–12% for titanium white, 30–75% for organic pigments, 130–150% for carbon black.
